I have an Oster CKSTBRTW20 Bread Maker (LOVE it). So far, I have made the recipes for Honey Grain, Sandwich, and Cheddar Cheese Bread. All of them turned out great! I'm looking forward to trying the Caramelized Onion Loaf as well as the Asiago Tomato Bread. More baking days ahead...Update - March 12, 2015: made the Caramelized Onion Loaf and it was so good! Even better with a smear of butter!

We've quite enjoyed this cookbook. We're finally getting some use out of the bread maker we got at our wedding. The recipes in this book are much better than ones that came with the bread machine. We especially enjoyed the English muffin recipe and the cinnamon raisin bread. Even the basic bread was better than store-bought. We can't wait to try more of them!

I just got a bread machine for me and wanted more recipes than the few that come with the book. This one is great for that. It gives me a lot of variety and we can enjoy a different bread every time I go into the kitchen. I don't think I have made the same bread twice. Because we live in a cold weather state, I make a lot of soup and nothing goes better with soup than hot bread.

No pictures. No descriptions. No anything. Had the 131 recipes but very very low quality printing. for the $ you can get a MUCH buying something else.

I am a Kurt Vonnegut fan! I re-read that audio book of Breakfast of Champions. A second reading was worth it.My first reading was close to the publication and I mostly enjoyed his almost despair about war and life in general. What had attracted me to his work was the book Cat's Cradle, which described a science indifferent to the harm it could do and people unable to stop themselves from ending the world....yet a foolish religion, based on lies, helped.Breakfast of Champions is more experimental. The author is present in the text with the power to lead his characters into suffering and participate in the consequences. The book is full of drawings, which the reader in the audio book ably describes. It is also full of explanations of very common things and slogans from advertising. The hint of Pop Art emerges.The N. word, which today is worse that any other swearing sexual or otherwise, is used frequently. This is jarring....but probably reflects to time of the story. The problems of racism, insanity, planet destruction, misuse of jails, even a gay son for a central character are all a part of the mix. Except for the N. word.....it remains timely.The climax of the story happens in a restaurant where the author's heart is opened by a speech by an avante garde artist whose peculiar looking expensive artwork......is really about human dignity. That's what's great about Kurt Vonnegut books. In the mess of the world, he understands and expresses the reality of grace and human dignity. Hope without a lot of evidence. I like it!

I really don't feel that I am qualified enough to review Vonnegut, but this has long been one of my favorite of his books. This is by far the most entertaining, with the most laugh out loud moments and...you can love him or hate him for his agenda...or you can read him because he is an entertaining man.When it comes to fiction, that should really be the only litmus test: "was it entertaining" and for better or for worse reading Vonnegut's and Hoover's break down into the realm of mental insanity was beautifully entertaining.Never mind the critics and the stuffy academic thesis's of scholars. Read it because it's funny and entertaining.

I first read this book about 15 years ago and remembered thinking it was hilarious...turns out it still is. It is almost impossible to describe this book but I think everybody should read some Vonnegut and this is as good of a place to start as any. This book will make you laugh out loud but also leave notions in your head to contemplate long after you have finished reading it.

This book stars Dwight Hoover, who is locally rich and famous in an Ohio town.This book also stars Kilgore Trout, who before being honored by Eliot Rosewater is nowhere famous.Actually, Trout is famous because the writer who created him, Kurt Vonnegut. Vonnegut is famous, and he wrote this book. Vonnegut is also a character in the book, and he knows that he is writing it.Vonnegut makes Hoover, Trout, and Rosewater his puppets. It is a fun breaking of third and fourth walls, almost metafictive, and it doesnâ€™t make you feel like Vonnegut is trying to say â€œLook how clever I amâ€ because he really is clever. In an understated way. All the characters come together for a thing that happens. I wonâ€™t spoil it for you.I first read this when I was in my early 20s. I lay on full-sized mattress as the springs poked me through the cheap foam pad, and I was deep in Vonnegutâ€™s world. The time passed too fast. I read it again this weekend, after a dozen years or so. The only difference is that I sat up for the most part, on a comfortable couch I own. That, and I appreciated the drawings differently (There are a number of drawings). The younger version of me liked them because they were a bit risqué. Older me wanted each new drawing to be a new tattoo.

Easily not one of Vonnegut's best works. Despite uncompelling protagonists and no real plotline, you get many of Vonnegut's amusing observations and abstractions. The chrono-synclastic infundilium, the Church of God the Utterly Indifferent, and a Tralfamadorian cameo.

I first read this beautiful literary achievement when I was a mere prat of 13. It sat in my then off to college, older brother's bookshelf. It was the cover of the Dell (if I recall correctly) paperback, showing a stylized reproduction of (Titian's?) "VENUS On A Half-Shell." I was just beginning puberty and had no idea of what sexual arousal was, but I knew how to resolve it by myself. I was hoping to read something about the woman on the cover.There wasn't a word about her in the text, but, looking back, I was off on one of the most influential adventures of my life. Some would say this novel is cynical; I disagree. At the time of that first read, I didn't think I'd understood much of it, but I took some really spiffy words to school. "Chrono-synclastic infundibulum," "Tralfamador," to name two. I believed they made me seem mysterious and (in the vernacular of northeastern Massachusetts) "wicked smart".As it turned out,as if by osmosis, I absorbed much of the underlying existential philosophy, the satirical attitude, the humor and the HOPE. Thus began my love affair with Vonnegut, adult sci-do and words. Read it, read it again and experience true American genius. The only question for me now is, how many descendants does Mark Twain have?

Good product. It does a good job of showing the shape of the trees and the appearance of it's leaves or needles. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is that it had colored drawings of 12 of the various species bark instead of actual photos. It has photos on the front cover so I had hoped that it would have them on the inside as well.

I wanted more info on identifying trees by their leaves. Being a city dweller, hard to see the shape of trees and the shape is often distorted by pruning.

There is also a page on sub tropical and desert trees and the bottom of the page shows distinctive bark descriptions of North American trees. Explains how to identify leaf shapes and arrangements. Illustrations are colored drawings. Brief descriptions on each tree.

Lots of illustrations, very detailed descriptions, and very useful as a resource. I'll be using this very often for the next two weeks!

Yet, his the organization of the sources, his commentary on them, their relevance and conciseness are all stunning. The author mastered two immense literatures, one in Afrikaans, and evaluates them judiciously and carefully, never scoring cheap points or parading his own work--he strictly presents (and often modifies) the best social-scientific hypotheses of the last 100-or-so years. I just can't get over how impressive this book is. Consider reading with Roll, Jordan, Roll: The World the Slaves Made.

Understanding America's original sin of slavery is complicated so that comparing it with South Africa adds an additional layer of understanding. A Very readable account by authors that work hard to make meaningful comparisons.

White supremacy has evolved quite a bit over the past few centuries, but the end result is always the same (whites benefit, non-whites suffer). This book is a very detailed and informative look into the gradual development of white supremacy through it's various stages (religious, scientific, biological) and the links American's insipid past with South Africa and even makes the connection between what the British did to the Irish (before racism) and how it was kind of a precursor to what Europeans did to the American Indians. From how white dealt with indigenes of countries they colonized to race mixing to segregation and labor, this book hits I didn't have much knowledge about South African history (prior to Nelson Mandela), so this book really opened my eyes to all the similar methods whites have used worldwide to maintain dominance over non-whites. I didn't even know slavery existed in South Africa and that they shipped in slaves from East Asia. The book explores how whites used interracial sex and half breeds in South Africa to control the other slaves and how whites allowed them to assimilate into their white culture (a warning to all you who promote interracial sex today). I really seek works that help me understand better how whites people think and reading something like this and picking up on all the patterns of behavior by whites and their constant rationalization of their evils (til this day), this book is invaluable as a reminder that I am a victim of white supremacy and their global white empire is an umbrella hanging over my head everyday of my life. It's not comforting, but it's true and knowing that is the first step in improving my health as a victim.

I received this book in the mail today and immediately sat down and devoured it, cover to cover. So good like potato chips, the recipes and the writing, I didn't want to put it down. I was a recipe tester so I've already made and enjoyed some of the things in here and there are several more I'm excited to make after reading through the recipes. As a family with a year-round CSA, I really appreciate the greens and root veg love. This is a cookbook similar to how we like to cook and eat, simple and satisfying, yes with our hands, big and small plates, with little waste and embracing the oddball veg out there. Cabbage, cauliflower, kohlrabi, and turnips finally get their turn to shine. I've been reading Alana's blog for a while so I knew I'd like the book but I was surprised by how much I really loved it instead.

Fantastic vegetarian cookbook..filled with satiating dishes that you can feed to guests that are not vegetarian. The Poblano Rajas Tacos are addictive and the Cucumber Shiso soba is almost a shock for how good it is. The flavors seem familiar but put together create a new flavor that is a happy surprise for your mouth. You can make it ahead of time and gets better the longer it sits in the refrigerator (like a marinade works).Beautifully photographed recipes to peak your interest and give you a clear idea of what it should look like in the end.There is also a useful section on how to wash, store, and make your vegi's last.

I have every cookbook Chernila has written and love her blog, too. This book is full of vegetable gems and has been sitting on my kitchen counter in constant use since it arrived.

Recipes aside, I could read Alanaâ€™s cookbooks all day long. They are warm and inviting, as if we are just two friends sharing our favorite memories and recipes. And the recipes! I canâ€™t decide what to cook first, but I am fired up to add both turnips and radishes to my repertoire!

Beautiful!! Love all of her cookbooks. Makes me so happy to see this addition on my cookbook shelf! Wish there were more pictures of recipes though.

I finished this book by Nikki Sloan last night and absolutely loved it. It was a hot sexy read, but also had a great underlying story, that was thoughtful, interesting, exciting and just fabulous. I bought it straight from reading the synopsis and haven't yet read the previous two books in the series, but I'll be on to that right now, as I love how this story flowed. I could not put it down, and have found myself another great author, which makes me very happy. I would recommend this book anyone who loves this romance.erotica genre. Its a beauty.

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - This series is actually very well written & super hot! Joseph runs several nightclubs in Chicago along with a "wine tasting" bar that is a front for the Blindfold Brothel. Noemi is out at Joseph's club & they are instantly attracted to each other. Noemi is about 15 years younger than Joseph but there is something about her brains & beauty that make her more mature, and there is the fact that she seems innocent that sets him on fire. He calls Noemi "Little Girl" in public & "Baby Girl" during playtime. :) He wants Noemi to be his submissive, let him teach her what excites her because so far in 23 years she has not felt anything like when she's with Joseph. He even has her post pictures of erotic situations that she might enjoy, what a great idea! There is some hot action that I didn't even like that involved a belt that I found incredibly thrilling to read about. The best part is a scene that Joseph stages for her, beautiful Payton from the brothel & her fiance Dominic in action, letting Noemi explore sides of her sexuality she didn't know existed. The drama comes when her dad finds out who her boyfriend is & knows he's a "pimp" and Payton needs to keep her distance to wrap her mind around everything, even though she's already in love with Joseph.

Once again, Nikki Sloane has written a scorchingly sexy read for her Blindfold Club - a series I am huge fan of. I cannot believe it's taken me this long to get round to reading them.So, I feel it's important to mention that this particular release contains, in some respects, some sexual acts that are probably a little more controversial than her previous releases - so if choking, public sex, group sex, voyeurism, exhibitionism and minor elements of humiliation turn you off, you may not want to pick this one up. If, however, you're like me, this will be right up your street.It was nice to see a little (a lot?) more of Dominic and Payton in this release (they are, so far, my favourite couple from the series), and there was a wonderful emotional undertone to Joseph and Noemi's relationship, which had to deal with the events of Joseph's past, an age difference and an element of forbidden love. As ever, they are characters fully formed, characters to fall in love with and situations to make this a hot and heavy one-handed read.If I had to pick a flaw, I'd say that I felt the later half of the book moved a little too quickly for me. The plot was fantastic, but could really have been drawn out just a little longer to make my heart ache - as it was, everything sort of wrapped up a little too nicely, too quickly.Another fabulously sexy read from Nikki Sloane, combining edgy, graphic sex with characters that pack a proper emotional punch. Sloane is, firmly, a one-click author for me. She can do no wrong.

Oh wow I really enjoyed this book! Nikki Sloane has me utterly addicted to this series, and I could not stop reading this one once I started. This may be my favorite out of the series, but then again itâ€™s hard to choose which one I love the most. Joseph had peeked my interest since book one, and I wondered if he was going to get his own book. Now that Iâ€™ve read his, I fell in love with him. I knew going in his book might be a little different, but I was wrong. I really liked his character, even more so than the heroine. While Noemi had some good things going for her, at times it was very hard to connect with her. Honestly, it was outside the bedroom most of the time where I struggled a bit. But I knew she would be a little harder to like given her age and her background. I wonâ€™t give it away but just know itâ€™s definitely worth the read. I highly enjoyed this one and itâ€™s going to be hard to forget about naughty Joseph for a while.

Joseph and noemiJoseph owns several clubs. He meets a girl who intrigues him. He talks to her and gets her to start talking to him. She is interested in giving up control and letting someone else make the decisions. There is several scenes that she is involved in and esp one with other chapters in the story. He then finds out who her dad is and is â€œattackedâ€ by him. He steps up and becomes the man she needs that will stand up to her dad. It is a sweet story with all kinds of dirty sex.Truly these characters make my heart so happy. They enjoy their lives and relationships. The women love giving up the control to the men as well. It leaves you with wet panties and a heart that is happy.These books she be bought by everyone. One click them. You wonâ€™t regret it. It has all the elements of a great book that you will want to read over and over.

I highly recommend this book for those of you that enjoy a good book about BDSM relationships. It's a well written book that was, also, well edited. Noemi is 23 years old, has had one sexual relationship with a selfish boy/man, and was raised to be a good girl. She believes that she is too cold to have an orgasm during sex and just wants to find someone that can set her sexual side free. Joseph is a very dominant owner of a sex club among other businesses, and wants to set free the sexual side he can see in Noemi. This is a story of Noemi discovering her sexual side and Joseph accepting that he found someone that he would like to develop a long term relationship with. This is not your usual BDSM story. The characters are well developed and there is a very intense, group sex scene that may not be for all readers. I really enjoyed how well written and how well developed the characters were. I would have rated this book higher than a 5 if given the choice.

These songs are fairly easy arrangements, but the key most of these songs are written in is absolutely awful. The bass line is jarring and doesn't gel with the top line at ALL. I tried playing the bass line in treble clef, thinking the manufacturer had made some mistake, but no, that didn't help either. The book is cheaply made and it looks like it was copied on a 1980s copy machine. Save your money, find a better book with your favorite Sound of Music songs, one that includes ALL the song from the movie. What a disappointment.

I bought this 'Sound of Music:Easy PIano' and an 'Easy Piano' edition of Mary Poppins at the same time, for a specific piano studentto use....and I noticed that the Mary Poppins book DID follow the usual 'Easy Piano' guidelines but this edition of Sound of Music does not."Easy Piano" these days implies specific guidelines for arrangers/editors.Unless I am mistaken, this edition does not follow the current guidelines for 'Easy Piano'.Maybe in the early 60's when these arrangements were made by Mark Nevin,this WAS the current style for 'Easy Piano'. But today's typical 'Easy Piano' is easier than this.Therefore the product listing is misleading: "The Sound of Music: Easy Piano".In my case, this was not what I wanted. I can use this book with another student,but not with the student I bought it for.Specifically, these arrangements include lots of slurs, staccato, crescendo, diminuendo,dotted eighth sixteenths, eighth note triplets, and a smaller font size typical of older engravings.The note choices (no more than two notes at once in either hand) do seem fine for Easy Piano.There is a supposedly simpler edition called 'Beginner Piano Solos' edited by Bill Boyd,I have that on order, because this edition does not fit the parameters I wanted for a certain student.I also ordered an easy piano edition with play a long CD, and will try that one out too.What SHOULD this edition be listed as, if not 'Easy Piano'? Maybe 'Early Intermediate'?

It's great to have the most popular Sound of Music songs in one book. It has very nice renditions of the songs at a Beginners level. The melody line is just one note at a time and so is the bass most of the time. However, as simple as they are, the songs actually sound quite nice so I feel that a student that has learned note recognition and can play using one sharp or one flat would really enjoy these songs. My daughter has been playing piano for about 5 months. This is a little advanced for her, but she can work through some of the songs. Thereâ€™s several hand switches in a piece and some eight notes on the base clef line... along with sharps and flats mixed in. My daughter loves the movie so much that sheâ€™s tackling it though!

I bought the Kindle version of this. The music is nice, easy enough for a later beginner or intermediate pianist, and tasteful arrangements. The kindle version, however, is too small to use at the piano. I tried printing it out, but the pages were fuzzy. I wish I had bought the real book.

My grandchildren are taking piano lessons.. delighted to learn the songs!Even my 6 year old now learning right hand to "My Favorite Things"! Love it!

I accidentally bought this because it had the same cover as a friend's old copy, Unfortunately the songs are too easy and incomplete.

Does not include all of the songs from the movie but has most. Bass clef arrangements are not always pleasing to the ear but that's an easy fix by playing chords instead of written bass clef notes in those areas that sound less than pleasing. I'm an advanced beginner and I'm enjoying learning and playing the songs.
