too much sugar and instructions on cooking.

I bought this and her other book without really reading all the details because my family already eats healthy. I just recently chose to go dairy and glutenfree so when I reopened the books to check recipes I was very pleased to see how the recipes were labeled in the back of the book so you could quickly see what was dairy free, gluten free, peanut free, vegetarian, freezer friendly, as well as listed the page number. Wonderfully helpful!!! Recipes good too!

I was excited to get my copy of this cookbook. I'm one of those people who knows all about real food and what I should be eating but don't actually follow most of the advice out there. With three young kids I'm trying to do better, which is why I bought this cookbook. I feared I would crack it open, get overwhelmed, shelve it and never look at it again. Or that all the recipes would use items I couldn't find in Canadian stores or if I did would cost a fortune.When I opened it up I felt like I was greeted by a friend. Someone who had walked the same road as me and was there to help make it easier for me. She wasn't making me change all my ways overnight, just giving me easy changes I could make to improve my diet.I went grocery shopping the next day. I didn't make over my entire grocery cart but I had meal planned based on this cookbook (something I don't typically do with a new cookbook but I actually wanted to make everything!). In doing so I ended up filling my cart with real food and it didn't feel like a huge life change.All the recipes use normal foods found in normal grocery stores. They're easy to follow with step by step instructions, great tips, family friendly recipes with pictures of every meal.The first section is informative and not condescending in tone (great for a new cook or someone like me who is new to a real food journey).I love this cookbook! I feel like it will be living on my counter for many years!

I actually bought her other book first and then this one. Both are wonderful. The insight into all the sugar and chemicals we are eating is eye opening. Lisa is very helpful telling what to buy and why. She has great recipes and meal planning ideas. Her books are something I have been needing but didn't realize it until I read them. Highly recommend!

I have had this cookbook since it came out. I have been using her website for recipes for a year now. Overall I like all of her recipes, but I feel like the cookbook is too much talk and a little light on recipes (at least for those of us who have read her Blog). I would like to see more dinner recipes. Overall though the food is usually pretty good, though I often double the amount of spices she recommends (but that is probably just personal preference). Definitely recommend for someone looking to eat healthy and be able to prepare foods in a normal amount of time. I will say, that because of her website recipes and cookbook I went from a cook who could hardly boil water to one who loves to experiment and now makes some pretty darn good gourmet dishes! I am no longer afraid to try a recipe. I even lost 20 lbs eating REAL FOOD. I even just purchased this cookbook as a gift for my mother as she wants to try eating real food.

Great info but a lot of fish and bean recipes...just not a good fit for my family as far as recipes but the info is great.

I'm a big fan and long time follower of Lisa's blog. Her recipes are almost always spot on and huge hits in my house. It's difficult to venture outside of her recipes because I have yet to find another source that I can guarantee will come out right on the first try.I only wish that there were more original recipes in this book and fewer recipes that are available for free on her website. It was kind of a steep price for something that has a large portion of its content accessible for free.

I have both of her books. Made a few recepies from them. They were easy to follow, simple ingredients, and fast to make. And each come out great. Also, the first part of the book about healthy food choices is very informative. Great buy!

I'm thankful for people like Lisa Leake who are passionate about healthy eating and take the time to show everyone what they've learned, removing most of the 'hard work' from changing the way we eat. This book is perfect. It details everything one needs to know about cutting out 'highly' processed foods from their diet, in a way that is easy to understand so you're not bogged down with a bunch of boring 'info fluff'. I've been in the transition myself for a few months (even before I found her web site and this book) and now that I have 100 DAYS OF REAL FOOD to help guide me, I know I'm on my way to completely cutting out all the bad from my diet. Anyone looking to change the way they eat but aren't looking to go on a strict raw, vegan or vegetarian diet, this is the best book I've found so far to help you succeed. Bravo!
