This is a really good Anatomy book. It's a bit way too advanced for me as I was looking for basic anatomy just for drawing that this shows you muscles and veins and everything else underneath the skin.This book would be great for somebody that's going for a more realistic or hyper realistic Anatomy. This will not show you how to draw body parts or anything like that though this is basically just shows you what body parts look like under the skin and you live from there. This is definitely a book for somebody that's more on the details of anatomy versus the basics are overall concept of anatomy.
I'm a hobbyist "artist," and I wanted to find a cheap anatomy book to learn to draw the human figure at the suggestion of an actual artist friend. This certainly let me learn a lot about the human skeleton and muscles from just about every angle I could need. I'm sure I'll hang on to it for as long as I intend to draw.
I really like having this book as its focus is on creating lifelike action poses. The book includes skeletal and muscle drawings. It then shows how these move when you are drawing an action pose. I found it very helpful when depicting humans moving in a scene. The stop-action (time lapse) photos also allow you to see the incremental changes that occur as the body moves.
I've many anatomy books in my studio library, but it is THIS old rag that return to over and over again.
Awesome book. I really like it. It is easy to view to read to understand. You get to know all the human anatomy in a artist way. I like it.It is cheap i think i got it like around $6? I really think it is a book to keep forever.
As an Animation student we are required to learn, practice and always draw the figure. I have been doing figure drawing for 2 years now trying to find a book that would let me see the skeleton first, then the head, work down the body and start with the muscles in a clear, simple and complete way. This is the only book that has all of this and I've seen a lot. It is cheap and it has everything an artists needs to have a good understanding of anatomy. It has a lot of detail but not too much that an artist wouldn't care. It's perfect.
AWESOME BOOK SERVES IT'S PURPOSE FOR ME, IT GETS A FIVE.
This book was my required textbook from my college art class over a decade ago, but I still reference every now and then. It's not the best in terms of organization and cohesion. It's similar to a medical illustration book combined with photographs of anatomy and Old Masters' drawings. This is not a technique or how-to-draw book, but a good book to supplement your other illustration books.
