I purchased this book because I had borrowed the Spanish version from the library, and I really like that one (Uno Dos Tres: My First Spanish Rhymes). Even as an adult, I think it's a great way to learn vocabulary and pronunciation. The audio CD has spoken versions of all the rhymes, and there are songs for some of them, which helps the rhymes stick a lot better. The one thing I was a little disappointed in was the quality of the voice work. The Spanish version only used one individual, and she had an excellent reading voice. In the French book, the reading is done by one woman and a couple of kid. The woman on this recording does not sound as clear and polished as on the one on Spanish version. However, this issue does not have much of an effect on learning, and I would still highly recommend this book.

Great concept, poor execution. The kids rated it 1* because they couldn’t navigate the CD w/o an adult to help figure out which track to use.I rated it 3* because I find the songs catchy, I love the concept of learning through song, and I could look on YouTube to learn the melodies & skip the CD.The songs are easy enough to master if you learn the melodies elsewhere then come back & learn the words. There’s no easy way to navigate the CD using the book, as solid correlation between the two is only sporadic.Six kids btwn the ages of 3 and 7 tested this product — none of the kids was able to use it without adult help locating the correct songs on the CD.On the CD, its much easier to understand the kids than it is to understand the lady teaching. The book is simply a sing-along companion, and (as stated above) is of little help in locating song tracks on the CD.

Spoken language is all clear and in a child speed like. Easy to follow and easy to repeat even for 28m old. Songs are tastefully accompanied and sang with good voices and in pitch! (Unlike the other kids CDs). I highly recommend to kids groups and at home. Great edition.

Make sure you don't buy a used copy! Even if it says "good" it might not have the accompanying CD, which is very important if you don't know how to pronounce french words. Total waste of money because now I have to buy a new book.

Lovely, full book of songs and verses in French. Perfect for my 1st grade immersion student.

This is a quality production and I am enjoying learning the rhymes and teaching them to my 6 month old daughter. This is definitely a product for someone who already has a good understanding of French. It comes with a book with the French and there are translations and explanations (when appropriate) in the back. I did not give it 5 stars because I think it is a little difficult to use. The tracks are divided up into broad categories (By the River, In the Market) and there are several rhymes in each one which makes finding a particular rhyme more troublesome. It is difficult to listen to straight from beginning to end because the background music is repetitive. Also, there are many rhymes for older children, not just for babies so I am sorting through to find the ones that are appropriate for an infant. Overall, however, I am enjoying this product and would recommend it to a motivated francophile.

My nine year old is reciting these rhymes with the correct accent. She is learning so much this year and I love using this book and CD!! I need to get more products like this!

I have only one child so far and I try to speak only French to him during the day. Sometimes it's hard to think of things to talk about, especially since he's only 8 months old and can't talk back! So, we listen to this CD of songs and rhymes and it's fun to sing along with them for the baby. Once I turn it on, he perks up and smiles. I can bounce him on my knees while we listen. Although it is only audio, it keeps him entertained for longer than any kids show we've watched so far. Then, even when we're not home, I can sing him the songs or chant the rhymes. They're easy to learn and memorize. I also like how the songs cover lots of types of animals, numbers, days of the week and some letters. I'm really glad I bought it!
